EVENTS IN AUTUMN 2020

We are now fully adapted to the completely new circumstances here at the Hofburg Vienna. The task at hand is to use new event formats to breathe fresh life into the industry. This is bringing about huge changes to the complexion of events, but the key to success in this “new normal” is to maintain an unwavering focus on participants’ needs.

Safety first
Our prevention plan and bespoke solutions for safe meetings and conferences are in place to ensure that all events at the Hofburg Vienna are held in strict compliance with the latest safety and hygiene regulations. We are in regular contact with the different City of Vienna municipal departments as we secure clearance for events hosted at the Hofburg Vienna.

Ample space for you to comply with distancing measures
The Hofburg state rooms provide the ideal backdrop for flexible floor plans that comply with distancing rules and capacity limits. Fully compliant admission and exit procedures in conjunction with careful management of visitor flows also help to minimise the risk of infection.

Celebrate in style! The Hofburg state rooms provide a refined setting where individual requirements can always be accommodated, while assuring maximum visitor safety in accordance with the regulations for hosting Covid-19-compliant events – from Christmas parties to exclusive luxury banquets.

Measures include hand sanitizer dispensers in all public areas and WC facilities, increased cleaning intervals, open or sensor-operated doors, and well-ventilated spaces filled with natural light that have openable windows for regular air exchange. All of this adds up to the best possible protection for participants and employees. And the best possible starting point for successful and – above all – safe events at the venue.

Configuring custom layouts that take Covid-19 restrictions into account for your event is second nature for our team. The number of participants physically present at events will decline in future due to possible additional travel restrictions and distancing requirements, meaning that demand for space will also fall. The flexible layouts and innovative technologies available at the Hofburg Vienna will help to slow visitor flows and keep group sizes to a minimum.

This was confirmed at the Western Balkans Summit, which brought interior ministers from 18 European countries to the Hofburg Vienna in the second half of July. Representatives of Romania and Bulgaria who were unable to attend in person due to travel restrictions joined via a video stream alongside six other ministers from the Western Balkans. State-of-the-art technology helps to broaden the digital horizons of local events.

“On 2 September 2020 we welcomed the annual marke[ding] fair to the state rooms, where it celebrated its 10th anniversary. At Austria’s largest trade fair for promotional marketing, the 130 exhibitors presented the latest global trends in advertising materials and visual communications,” confirmed Managing Director Alexandra Kaszay.

“We really appreciate being able to organise a fair in such a unique location and knowing that, particularly in these testing times, we can count on the spirit, professionalism and expertise of the Hofburg Vienna team. As an event organiser, this leaves us enough leeway to come up with a format that is aligned with the current circumstances,” reported marke[ding] CEO Martin Zettl.

The autumn schedule will also feature a number of scientific congresses and trade fairs. Leading experts will get got together for the Vienna Tourism Conference 2020. The Art & Antique fair will be back in November with plenty of unusual exhibits. In December, the delegates of the 2020 ÖGDV Dermatology Meeting will once again be our guests at the Hofburg Vienna state rooms. All those who cannot participate on-site or who rate the risk of personal participation as too high, have the opportunity this year, to follow the ÖGDV annual conference via live streaming.

Hofburg tours – exclusive insights
The venue is now offering an exclusive opportunity to explore the international congress and event centre, which provides the stage for conferences and gatherings from all over the world. Lasting around 45 minutes, the tours of the unique congress centre in the heart of Vienna shine a light on the imperial history of the venue and the international conferences and events it is synonymous with. There are also some rarely-seen views in store.

Participants will get to see the ornate Festsaal, Zeremoniensaal and various other salons, as well as the Wintergarten with its matchless views of Heldenplatz below. The stage balcony in the Festsaal opens up a different perspective on this atmospheric space. Seemingly close enough to reach out and touch, the magnificent crystal chandeliers leave a lasting impression on many visitors. Impressions that live long in the memory. Please note that this special tour is not the same as the regular tours of Hofburg.
