Die Gründung der Wiener Kongress- zentrum Hofburg BetriebsgesmbH im Jahr 1969 war eine der ersten Privati- sierungen der Republik Österreich und legte den Grundstein für die Erfolgs- geschichte der Stadt Wien als interna- tionale Kongressstadt. Die Vermarktung des Hauses im In- und Ausland sowie seine internati- onale Verankerung durch zahlreiche Mitgliedschaften und Kooperationen trugen wesentlich zum Aufstieg Wiens in die weltweite Top-Liga des Kongress- tourismus bei. Im Herzen von Europa war und ist Wien eine internationale Drehscheibe für Politik, Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Kultur.
